Entertain the Brutes

Tuesday Morning Edition

That's right, you read the title...

So the PC is running, smoothly so far. I've reinstalled a good chunk of my things, so I need the new Executive Diskeeper from David to Defrag the new drive. Then I gotta Defrag the OLD drive, shift over a few more items, then take it out to never be used again so I can put my mass storage drive back in.

Then it's back to downloading all over again.

Work wise it's the same crap different day. The GM was fired last Friday due to public intoxication, which seems to be a theme around here.

Me, I just got done checking a guest in whose room was changed by accident and I had to make it up as I went.

It's a b-e-a-utiful.

Aren't you a little big for a stroller?

Aren't you a little big for a sidewalk?

Entertain the Brutes

Monday Morning Edition

So there I was, finally installing the Western Digital 36.7 GB 10,000 RPM 8 MB cache Raptor Serial ATA Hard Drive, David by my side.

And by 'by my side' I mean 'doing all the hard stuff'.

So the HD is kickass except Windows XP won't load quite right. Ok then. So reformat reinstall all over again. Now the DVD-ROM drive is clunking. Transfer the disk to a CD-ROM drive, still clunking. Over to his laptop CDRW, is ok.

So he sets another install, still fucks up. I decide it's time for a new CD drive, and by CD drive I mean a Sony 52X CDROM 16X CDRW 52X CDR 48X DVDROM. Add to that a 50 pack spindle of Sony CDR's and a 10 pack of those funky Verbatim Vinyl CD's (I had to), and it was back to the PC to rip it apart, put it back together, and try again.

Good news was no clunky. Bad news was still errored. Luckily I wanted a new burner anyways.

So I reinstall Windows, and start updating. That's when the unbreakable freezeups sstarted.

The PC would just STOP in the middle of d-loading or installing the updates. I had to reset during these freezes twice, and a few times it slowly came out. Then it was ok for a bit as I started installing en masse and carting over from the old C:, now in a removable drive tray as E: for storage.

I lay down for an hour, come back, whoomp, frozen in screen saver mode. Another restart. Now it freezes loading. Another restart. Then I shot it with a railgun and went to work.

All in all this thing is on my last good nerve.
