Entertain the Brutes

Friday Morning Edition

Time for another once-in-a-blue-moon-long-assed update.

It's 12:27 a.m. The hotel is quiet, sorta. The fountain splashes annoy, the crappy classical music blares but Linkin Park strains in from 92.3 K-Rock in the back.

This was a semi-typical T-Day. I took a personal day for Wed night just to have a day off in this slow business time, finally going to sleep around 6 p.m.. I awoke at 12:30, shortly after my Audit mate called my cell leaving a msg that he was going to take t-day off, forgoing the time and a half holiday pay. SUCKER!!

I stayed up until near 7 a.m., laying back down until 10:30 then showering and heading over to dad's. We bs'd briefly then left by noon to make sure we avoided traffic, which there was none, and showed up at Dolce HP by 12:30.

I did a brief meet and greet with a few of the people I know there, then showed him around a bit and brought him up to a room so he would know what to expect should he ever stay there.

Around 12:53 we got back downstairs to see the people had massed up and were slowly being led in. We had already secured our table when we first showed up (thanks Amy) so we waited out half the line or so and got in around 1:09.

Dinner was excellent and dad was taken by the restaurant, which is really nice for a regular restaurant, never mind a hotel one.

We took our time, getting soup first, having the setup food, then hitting the big stuff, having a champagne/OJ with it all, then finalized with cappachino and I had a bit of desert.

I enjoyed it and I'd go back next year whether I worked here or not, though next time I'll push for my employee discount...

That's the real extent of everything. Work is slow as hell tonight. I am currently at the part in my job that I generally do at 3 or 4 a.m., and it's 12:37... Ah well.

Fin.

Entertain the Brutes

24th Birthday Edition Part 2

Ok, so the scoop on the day.

Well, it sucked, mostly.

It started with no one having a fucking clue it was my b-day at work, including the girl who I wanted to ask out, who I wished a happy to.

From there the morning was so busy and enough people were around that not only did I NOT get to talk to the girl at all, I got in trouble for working out of uniform again.

After that I went home, took down the b-day sign from Barb, then got the last little presents from Laurel, the new Eagles CD and a HD wall sign.

Went to Dad's by 9:45 and we went to Fort Lee to get our Japanese stuff. Went back to his place to eat and bs, enjoyed my time there.

From there I went to the mall. As soon as I got there, saw BS and noted he put on more weight, was walking weird, and was attempting manlyness by having, as LF puts it, face fuzz. (Yeah, I got the weight too, I was making an observation, assholes.)

Went to Big & Tall to get my suits, love the look, hate the feel, need to spend MORE money and get the pants hemmed.

From there I went to Suncoast (on the way seeing BS in Wizards of the Coast) and got a portable DVD player, 7 inch widescreen by Mintek. It's real nice. Also grabbed Married: With Children Season 1 DVD and Pocky.

From there I went to Waldenbooks to look for the final Star Wars book in the New Jedi Order Series. They had that, and 'The Stone Cold Truth', plus a new Stephen King which I guessed LF would like (and I owe her for her b-day) so I called her to make sure it was safe to buy. As I was on the phone with her, BS waddled by, which I relayed to her finding amusement in the timing.

Bought all the books and left.

Tried to stop by my mothers around 4, but she wasn't there, and there was a note on the door for Dan. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled. I called the number she left Dan, and got Dan, and was told she'd be back to wherever Dan was in 20 minutes. I called her cell, no answer, waited 40, then went home.

She called my cell then the house around 8, stating she just got wind that I had tried to get in touch with her, further proving why I shouldn't bother with her in the first place.

I had gotten home around 5:30 after stopping by Blockbuster for PCU on DVD, and renting True Crime on Xbox and Finding Nemo on DVD. Went to bed around 7.

Woke up at 4 for the power outage.

That's the ballgame folks.

Entertain the Brutes

24th Birthday Edition Part 1

Well, it's here.

My birthday. Turning 24. Fuck I'm old.

Now, I've already recieved lots of sexual favors from my ex, LF, and it's been a wonderful week...

No, wait, that was the one dream where I was that hot dude from that show, and I lived in that house, and I had that money, and I had killed many people I don't like at the behest of the US government.

Shit.

I got those games I mentioned last post, and when I go to the mall at some point today to get my suits for work, I'll be getting a portable DVD player. Sweeeeeeeet.

I'll be having lunch with my father, Fort Lee Japanese style. I may still see my mother, but I'm sorry, after an average of speaking once a year with her for the past 7 years, I don't really want to spend my b-day with her.

David has stated hanging out Saturday, but he happened to conveniently leave out a length of time...

And of course, there's the girl... I'll find out about that in a bit over 2 hours.

Hasta la pasta, jackoffs!

Entertain the Brutes

Tuesday Morning Edition

Another few weeks gone by and time for another update.

My needyness dropped very slightly as I've gotten in a number of games over the past week or so. First was Smackdown! Bring the Pain. SD! 5 is the latest and greatest in the WWE collection (screw RAW 2 and WM 19, they sucked ass). The characters look better, the CAW is better, the Season mode is WAY better, and of course you have the Elimination Chamber.

From there the GTA Double Pack for XBox arrived. Putting GTA 3 and GTA VC on XBox was a wonderful idea. The sound and the graphics have been upgraded, though gameplay is a bit tough due to the new controller layout.

Finally there is Hunter: the Reckoning Redeemer. The third title in the Hunter series is the second on XBox. Though graphics and sound have been put back up to par in comparison with the PS2, I miss Wayward's rendered cutscenes. I also miss that the PS2 version upgraded every character as you played the game, so if you felt the need to switch off now and again you weren't to far behind. I also miss having multiple costumes.

The upgrading system is improved, but takes longer. Now you improve your melee attacking, ranged attacking, and Edge powers based on how often you use them. With the melee/ranged attacks you get a bonus. Every so often as you upgrade your stat in the area the base weapon itself is upgraded. I've been using the Judge forever and a day, and the upgrades were rather noticible and very cool.

I beat the game, on Nightmare mode, rather quickly and easily. Cheat codes helped alot... They left the story open just enough to allow for a sequel on any system, seeing as how the PS2 game was a sequel to the original XBox game, and this new XBox was a sequel to both, and talked about the PS2 game. Of course, in the usual twist of fate, my character, the Judge is killed off at the end of the game. Not too surprising, due to his age, but Father Esteban Cortez shall be missed.

At least we have the Redeemer's bouncing titties to look forward too...

Only 3 days 7 hours and change until I'm officially older. Dammit time flies when your alone.

Next April or May the wait finally ends and HALO 2 will hit the Xbox. I've anticipated this sequel more than most anything else I can think of, and it should be off the wall. Sure, RE 4 is due out next year as well (maybe, maybe 2005) but hey, it's HALO 2.

I have 18 thousand things that MAY happen on and around my birthday. First up is Laurel, who swore to me we'd hang out, to which I replied "No we won't" and which she gave me the evil eye for. My explanation was simple enough. "You didn't last year, you never do, why would I think you'd do it this time?" So, we'll see.

My dad's in town briefly, so he and I will head up to Fort Lee to the Japanese store I love and haven't been to in years. Probably Thursday.

My mom (surprisingly) also wants to take me out (more surprising) but I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. Besides, I'd rather go out with Laurel or Dave for the actual day then mom.

David is always ultra busty, I mean busy, so odds are I won't see him at all, or maybe for a couple hours Saturday. This coupled with his plans to move rile me up.

The final idea, long shot at best, is asking out a girl at work who just so happens to have her birthday the same day as mine. Freaky, aint it. Anyway, she works that morning, so I'll see her briefly, and can find out her plans.

Well, that's all for now. Later all.
